POINTS OF INTEREST:
Simon Mills’ book “HMHS Britannic, the Last Titan” gives the year of birth of Harry Dyke as 1869. This would mean he was just one year younger then Captain Bartlett, namely 47.
After the sinking of the Britannic, Dyke arrived back in England on December 8,1916. Despite his recent ordeal he was listed in the log of the Olympic on the 30th of the same month.
The Runic entry is not 100% confirmed, as a ‘J.H. Dyke’ seems to be listed. If he was aboard, he was serving together with Alfred Brocklebank, who he would later meet again on the Britannic.
